. Hi, I’m Amruta, Co-Founder & Academic Director at Pacific Tutorials. My passion for teaching began early, inspired by my family—my mother tutored young children, and my father taught high school and post-secondary students. In school, I was known for making complicated concepts simple for my peers, and I realized that knowing something is not enough—it’s how you convey it that truly matters. I believe every student is unique and deserves lessons tailored to their strengths and learning style. I hold an M.Eng from Mumbai University and an M.Ed from the University of Victoria, BC, and I have over a decade of experience in teaching and tutoring. I’ve achieved top ranks in several competitive exams, including State and National Talent Search exams and a national-level Math Olympiad. Today, my greatest motivation comes from seeing students develop confidence, master challenging concepts, and achieve their academic goals. I oversee curriculum design, mentor tutors, and work directly with students to provide personalized, engaging lessons, while continuously exploring new teaching strategies to make learning meaningful and effective.

. Hi, I’m Saurabh, Co-Founder & Director of Operations at Pacific Tutorials. With an M.S in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and experience as a software professional, I bring structure, analysis, and precision to the company’s operations. I manage strategy, finance, systems, and overall backend processes, ensuring that our team can deliver high-quality tutoring efficiently. I balance Amruta’s teaching passion with careful operational and financial planning, helping the company run smoothly and sustainably. I’m a perfectionist at heart and highly value quality and productivity. I’m also an avid reader and keep myself updated on current affairs and developments, which allows me to connect knowledge across fields and make informed decisions in all aspects of my professional work. I love learning and constantly improving, which helps me analyze details, optimize processes, and support our team in achieving excellence.

AMRUTA GOKHALE
Hi, I’m Amruta, Co-Founder and Academic Director at Pacific Tutorials. I hold an M.Eng from Mumbai University and an M.Ed from the University of Victoria, BC, and I have over a decade of experience in teaching and tutoring. Through years of teaching, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for tutors to manage multiple students at different levels of understanding in a single session. Watching students struggle to get the attention they deserved motivated me to create Pacific Tutorials—a platform built on the belief that every student deserves personalized, one-on-one attention.
As the Academic Director, I oversee curriculum design and academic quality across all subjects. I work closely with tutors to ensure lesson plans align with student goals, provide ongoing training and feedback, and review student progress regularly. I also design customized learning pathways for students, develop academic resources, and coordinate with parents to ensure transparent communication and consistent growth.
My greatest motivation comes from seeing students grow—not just in grades, but in confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning. That’s the heart of Pacific Tutorials: learning that is meaningful, individualized, and truly transformative.

Hi, I’m Jennifer Byers, an ESL teacher with fourteen years of experience teaching Academic English, IELTS preparation, General and Business English, English for Special Purposes, and English Pronunciation.
I’m a life-long learner, having earned a TESL certification from George Brown College (2011), a TESL Ontario certification (2011), and a Master’s of Education from the University of Sherbrooke (2022).
My teaching is guided by two key principles. First, I work closely with students to develop their self-expression in English, whether in writing, speaking, or perfecting pronunciation. Second, I ensure students are never left confused, even if this means re-explaining a concept multiple times. My goal is for every student to leave class with a complete understanding of the material.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading fiction and biographies, exploring fibre arts, and taking care of my collection of houseplants. I love bringing this same curiosity and care into my teaching, helping students feel confident and excited about learning English.
